Using sound waves to diagnose stress fractures

Recently one of my clients told me that she had an accident and hurt her foot and thought it might be broken.  She got x-rays and nothing showed up and was told it was just a sprain.  The pain persisted and about a month later, she went to her acupuncturist, who uses a tuning fork to diagnose whether there is a bone fracture.  The sound waves vibrate and if there is a fracture, there is a sharp pain at that point.  She went back to the doctor and got another x-ray, which showed there was evidence of a fracture that was healing.

It's quite common for x-rays to miss fractures.  It is no surprise that sound waves can be used to diagnose, as well as heal.
