A client of mine recently had her DNA done through one of the services and then received back medical information on the genes. They indicated a greater chance of almost every type of cancer, greater probability of macular degeneration, and other diseases. This person wanted to know, what to do with this information.
Just because you have certain genes that say you have a higher chance of getting certain diseases, doesn't mean that you are destined to get these diseases. Genes don't tell the full story, there are switches in the DNA that turn items on and off.
And, there is research that you can actually change your DNA. One study written in Scientific American talks about cancer patients can change their DNA by meditating.

Another site says according to the science of epigenetics, stem cells and even DNA can be altered through magnetic fields and intention.

Even your diet can change your DNA.

There are scientists who believe light and sound alter our DNA and influence our biology. DNA makes its own beautiful music before we even try to alter it.
